Russell Johnson, who played the professor on "Gilligan's Island," died this morning (Jan. 16) at 89 years old.
Johnson died at his home in Washington state of natural causes, his agent told The Wrap. His wife, Constance, told ABC News that he died of kidney failure. "He died at home, peaceful, in his sleep at 5:21 a.m. today," she told ABC. "[He was] a very brave guy who knew what he wanted, and he wanted to be at home."
His co-star, Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann on the iconic '60s TV series, took to Facebook to express her grief:
