It seems that The Viper didn't quite know what he was up against when he duelled with The Mountain on "Game of Thrones."

Iceland native Hafþór "Thor" Björnsson, who played the fearsome knight Ser Gregor "The Mountain That Rides" Clegane on the HBO series, has been declared "Europe's Strongest Man" after winning a strength competition in Leeds, England earlier this month.

Björnsson, who stands 6-9 and weighs almost 450 pounds, won three events: forward hold, also known as "Thor's Hammer"; 100-kilogram dumbbell for reps (he lifted it seven times); and atlas stones, which involved placing large weights atop a series of barrels, becoming the only person ever to complete six in the competition.

The strongman celebrated his win by tearing off his shirt and telling an interviewer, "I am the future of strength!"

Björnsson had previously come second in the World's Strongest Man contest.

(SPOILER ALERT)

So don't feel bad, Oberyn. You're not the only competition that the Mountain has slain.
